Andy Bond scored a massive milestone in TopSpeed Street Eliminator history in June’s Summer Nationals at Santa Pod – the UK’s first Street Eliminator six! He ran a 6.999 at 210mph, and that’s in mandated street trim – treads, silencers, no wheelie bars and on pump fuel. Well done Andy and the whole Ugly Sister team – ice creams all round, I think!

You may have heard the rumours … and they’re true! The old York Raceway is making tentative steps towards recovery! With a new start and a new name – Melbourne Raceway – there’s going to be a Revival event on August 3rd and 4th, and they’re looking for as many of the old faces to come along as possible. New ones welcome too, of course. After a long period of neglect, a recent volunteer work party managed to get a single-lane eighth ready for some solo runs, and if this ‘feeler’ event, running under the auspices of Straightliners, gets the support it deserves then, who knows? There could be plenty more to come … Find out more and pledge your support – search Melbourne Raceway on Facebook. Let’s get drag racing back in the north!
